Cupping

What is the Cupping Technique?
Cupping therapy involves applying specific cups to the skin to create a vacuum through suction, stimulating blood flow to the targeted area. This increased blood flow is due to the negative pressure exerted by the cups. Cupping is often used to release toxins from body tissues and organs, drawing them to the surface for elimination.

Benefits of Cupping Therapy
At Healing Hands Chiropractic, we work with a variety of musculoskeletal issues, including back, neck, and extremity complaints, as well as post-surgical rehabilitation. Many of our patients seek sports medicine-related treatments, benefiting from non-medicinal and non-invasive therapies like cupping, which stimulate and accelerate the body’s natural healing processes.

Cupping therapy offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Reducing pain and inflammation
  • Promoting healing and rejuvenation
  • Increasing relaxation
  • Enhancing lymphatic drainage
  • Stimulating the secretion of synovial fluid
What to Expect During a Cupping Session
When you arrive for your cupping appointment, your practitioner will perform a brief medical examination and discuss your symptoms.

The cups will then be applied to your bare skin manually. You will feel a noticeable suction sensation, but it should not be painful. The cups will remain in place for a short period while you rest comfortably. Afterward, you may notice your skin turning red or showing light bruising (called ecchymosis), which will fade over time.

At Healing Hands Chiropractic, we aim to provide natural and effective therapies to promote your overall well-being and support your body's healing processes. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a cupping therapy session, please feel free to contact us.
